Access to offenders' super for victims of child sex abuse

  Published: 22 Feb 2023

ISA’s longstanding position has been that members’ retirement savings must be preserved to provide Australians with financial security and wellbeing in retirement. However, ISA also considers that an effective superannuation system must generate trust and confidence for all Australian workers. This is especially so given the compulsory nature of superannuation. Where offenders exploit and manipulate the system to shield their assets from compensation claims by victims or survivors, they undermine the credibility of the system.
