On 27 August 2019, the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) released their latest quarterly publications: Quarterly Superannuation Performance Statistics (June 2019) and Quarterly MySuper Statistics (June 2019). The first publication provides sector-aggregate summaries of the financial performance and key metrics of the superannuation funds regulated by APRA. The second publication provides the performance data and other metrics of MySuper products on a product-by-product basis. The key statistics contained in the publications are presented and analysed with a focus on comparing the long-term return performances across various superannuation sectors. A list of MySuper products ranked by ‘representative member’ 5-year net returns is also provided.
