Early access could be weighed down by ineligible claims

  Published: 20 Apr 2020

NEW polling shows about 1 million people who have not been impacted by the Coronavirus shutdowns are intending to access their super early.

A UMR survey, commissioned by Industry Super Australia (ISA), shows that it could be as much as 40 per cent of applicants would be ineligible to access the scheme.

This high number of ineligible claimants would not undermine the policy intent of the scheme but could slow down the processing of applications for those who urgently need to access their super now to put food on the table.
