‘Employee-like’ forms of work and stronger protections for independent contractors

  Published: 30 May 2023

ISA supports empowering the Fair Work Commission to set minimum standards for workers in ‘employee-like’ forms of work, including the gig economy. However, the government’s current proposals do not include any reference to superannuation for these workers. ISA’s position is that gig workers (and other workers in ‘employee-like’ forms of work) should be paid the superannuation guarantee.
