ISA welcomes the opportunity to comment on the Quality of Advice Review Proposals Paper. While the proposals in the paper around personal advice and general advice may improve access and affordability of advice to Australians, they fail to strike an appropriate balance between access, affordability, quality and consumer protection. In particular, we consider that the risks posed to consumers by the proposals outweigh any other benefits.
