Bernie has been working in industry super for well over a decade and brings with him an abiding commitment to help members’ keep their super in good hands, and their interests at the heart of decision making so they can enjoy a better life in retirement.
Bernie is committed to bringing employers, workers and funds together on super and related economic issues that have the power to generate shared prosperity and a better, fairer way of life in Australia.
He has extensive experience in leading the development and implementation of business strategy, corporate affairs and marketing programs in the superannuation environment. As a previous, and proud Chief Executive of Industry Super Australia, Bernie led the team that integrated marketing and advocacy programs that helped industry super funds remain competitive, protected the founding principles of super, and boosted member savings.
Prior to working in super Bernie held a series of senior executive roles at WorkSafe Victoria, including leading award-winning marketing and communication programs that help protect workers lives and drive down the rate and cost of workplace injuries.
